Despite having commitments from two premier backs in the class of 2017, Florida State clearly isn't done at the position -- at least when it comes to the possibility of adding Rivals100 prospect Cam Akers.
And the Clinton, Miss., product, who has had a big summer with impressive performances at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge and also Nike's The Opening, is showing that he has plenty of interest in the Seminoles as well.
This past weekend, Akers took his third visit to FSU -- his second of the summer -- and he told Warchant.com that he couldn't have felt more comfortable with the Seminoles.
"I'd say just how the coaches portray things to me and prove what they say," Akers said. "I have a good time every time I go. I feel very comfortable there. I can definitely say I feel like it's a home away from home."
The 5-foot-11, 211-pound Akers, who is rated the nation's No. 2 running back by Rivals, was committed to Alabama at one point but later backed off that pledge. Some of the main schools involved with him during the recruiting process have been Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Florida State.
Akers didn't make the trip to Tallahassee alone -- the Seminoles also hosted one of his teammates, 2017 Athlete Kam White. And while White doesn't yet have an offer from Florida State, there appears to be solid interest from both sides.
Akers' father also made the trip, and the four-star running back said everyone came away very impressed.
