With the season over after an extended postseason run, the focus of the Florida State baseball staff has shifted totally to putting the final touches on the 2025 team.

FSU took a big step in that direction Friday when Texas Tech centerfielder Gage Harrelson announced on Twitter that he's transferring to join the Seminoles this offseason.

Harrelson, who originally hails from Warner Robins, Ga. and played alongside ACC Freshman of the Year Drew Burress at Houston County High, will arrive at FSU as a junior this offseason after two years with the Red Raiders.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound outfielder appeared in 101 games and started 86 as a centerfielder over two seasons in Lubbock, hitting .300 over his TTU career with 18 doubles, six triples, two home runs and 56 runs batted in.

While Harrelson's batting average and playing time dropped as a sophomore in 2024, he actually rose his on-base percentage from .404 to .411 with 28 walks in 141 plate appearances.

He also plays a spectacular center field defensively, with quite a few highlight plays this past season for the Red Raiders.

The addition of Harrelson allows FSU to move Max Williams to a corner outfield spot that better suits him for the 2025 season. Harrelson is also a candidate to lead off next season, allowing Williams to move to a more traditional spot in the lineup for a power hitter.

Harrelson is the fourth FSU transfer addition of the offseason, but the first full-time position player. He joins Jacksonville transfer pitcher Evan Chrest, JU two-way player Peyton Prescott and USF transfer pitcher Joey Volini.
