FSU blows out UMass on day one of Battle 4 Atlantis

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) - Michael Snaer had 18 points and 10 rebounds and No. 22 Florida State took advantage of Massachusetts' dismal shooting in a 73-53 victory Thursday in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
Luke Loucks added 12 points, and Bernard James had nine points and five blocks for the Seminoles (5-0).

Raphiael Putney scored 11 points for Massachusetts (4-1). The Minutemen were 19 of 68 from the field and 2 for 23 from 3-point range.
The Seminoles will face Harvard in the second round Friday. The Crimson beat Utah 75-47.
Trailing by one late in the first half, Florida State went on a 15-4 run to close out the period. Snaer had seven points during the spurt.
Florida State kept up the defensive pressure in the second half and the Minutemen continued to struggle from the field. The Seminoles made 11 of their last 12 free throws.
Florida State is 5-0 for the second straight season.
The Seminoles will take on Harvard in Friday's round two with tip-off scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST. The game will be televised by the Versus Network.
