Of all the players participating at Florida State's skills camp on Saturday, the quarterbacks seemed to be drawing the most attention.

In this Camp Insider, we look at two of those impressive signal-callers and also learn more about new 2020 DB commitment Demorie Tate.

DB Demorie Tate puts on a show, discusses love for 'Noles

Even before he made his commitment to Florida State on Saturday afternoon, Orlando defensive back Demorie Tate already was grabbing attention for his performance in the Seminoles' skills camp.

The 2020 prospect made it clear that he loves competition, and that was obvious by the way he attacked each of the various drills. He also soaked up all of the advice he could get from FSU defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett.

"I love to compete," Tate said. "I wanted to show my physicality and impress the coaches on how I fit into Florida State if I went here. I play mostly corner, but I do play safety too. I also play running back and receiver.

"Coach Barnett really helped me today with my footwork more in putting myself in the best position to make plays."

Tate would end up committing to FSU later in the day Saturday. But even before he made his announcement, the talented DB did not hide the fact that he loved the Seminoles.

"FSU has always been my favorite school," Tate said. "I love this place. Today was great, being out there and working with Coach Barnett. He helped me a lot. At Florida State, Coach Taggart is making this place really special."

The Freedom High standout has been a big fan of Florida State for quite some time, but he said Willie Taggart's arrival has taken the program to another level in his mind.

"Oh man, I really love the enthusiasm, energy," Tate said. "They have such a passion for Florida State, and so do I. But I think that's what you see and also how much of a family it is. When you are here, everyone feels like they are a part of the family."
