FSU football recruiting heats up; 'Noles named finalist for three

Despite a tough debut season for head coach Mike Norvell, the Florida State football team appears to be picking up steam with recruits at several positions of need.

Here are new updates this morning with three recruits listing the Seminoles among their top schools.

* Junior college DE Byron Young -- The Georgia Military College standout says he's planning to enroll at a four-year school in January, and his top four features FSU, Auburn, Tennessee and Missouri. Read the full update here: JUCO pass-rusher names top 4, decision soon

* Georgia defensive lineman Ian Mathews -- The 6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman has narrowed down his list of schools to seven finalists. That group of schools includes FSU, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Georgia Tech and South Carolina. Update from the Virginia Tech Rivals site

* Louisiana RB Ke'Travion Hargrove -- The former Louisiana Tech commit doesn't plan to make an an announcement until February, but he says the Seminoles are still firmly in his top four. The early signing period is scheduled to begin on Dec. 16.
