The Skinny on QB Chris Parson & FSU
This recruitment has been extremely intriguing through the spring and now into the summer. It started when FSU began thinking about taking a second quarterback in this class and offered a pair of prospects in March. Around that time, Parson started setting up official visits to SMU and Mississippi State. I consider SMU the real threat in this one because of the offensive fit and what Rhett Lashlee does with quarterbacks.
From the FSU side of things, the 'Noles feel very good about how everything went on his official visit last weekend. He clicked with the players and coaches and was very engaged with everything on the visit. He has given them every indication he plans to be at FSU for the future.
Still, I'm in the 50-50 department right now that he sticks, despite the fact that Parson has been openly helping the recruiting efforts for FSU. Usually when quarterbacks are concerned about a second QB being recruited, that doesn't end well with the school they are committed to.
At the Elite 11 event this week, Parson once again said he was committed to the 'Noles and is focused on his future in Tallahassee. But we don't believe he's done with visits yet, so it's not time to call this race over.
