Recruiting can happen at a rapid pace. One 2013 prospect can attest to that: South Plantation (Plantation, Fla.) athlete John Franklin was offered a scholarship from Florida State on Wednesday.
The senior admitted he did not need much time to think about his decision, but he wanted to discuss it with his family first.
"I'm going to talk with the FSU staff again so they can talk with my Mom, who was very happy about the offer," he told Warchant.com on Wednesday. "I still have to talk things over with my family and discuss everything, but if not a decision (Wednesday night), I believe it will be at the end of the week. FSU is the big leader for me at this point."
True to his word, his decision came quickly.
On Thursday morning, Franklin called FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher and told him he was ready to become a Seminole. The South Plantation quarterback confirmed with Warchant.com his news.
"It's official. I committed this morning to Florida State. It's just a great feeling, Coach Fisher welcomed me into the family," said Franklin. "FSU felt like home. I can see myself being a successful student and athlete there."
Franklin becomes the 17th commitment for Florida State (including Richy Klepal, who is entering as a medical hardship). He will get a shot at quarterback, but is being recruited by the 'Noles as an athlete.
