FSU already has two commitments for the offensive line from Ira Denson (Madison, Fla.) and Austin Golson (Pratville, Ala.) FSU added another big pick up from out of state on Monday.
New Orleans, La. center Ryan Hoefeld had an idea that Florida State was the place for him. The 6-foot-3, 270 pounder attended FSU's summer camp in June and knew FSU is where he wanted to be. Today he was ready to become a Seminole.
"Yes sir, I committed to Florida State (Monday). I just knew it was the place for me when I was down there," said Hoefield, a three-star prospect. "I know offensive line coach Rick Trickett is going to make me a great player and he's the best around. We immediately connected."
There were plenty of reasons behind the choice to pick FSU, but the biggest was the comfort he had with the Seminoles and how he can be used on the offensive line. Hoefeld talks about the reasons and when he actually knew about the choice.
"I actually knew after the June summer camp. I connected with everyone there, but even more importantly Coach Trickett and I were both the same way in how we look at things," he said. "He's a perfectionist about doing everything right and that's the style of coaching I love. I can't wait to get there."
Hoefeld says he will also be attending the FSU summer camp in July to work with Trickett even more. He also plans to help with the 2013 recruiting class.
Hoefeld becomes the No. 14 commitment for the 2013 class. With the commitment, Florida State moves up to No. 13 in the Rivals.com team rankings.
