FSU picks up four-star guard

Florida State basketball picked up another commitment on Friday, as High Point, N.C. four-star guard Montay Brandon verbally pledged to the Seminoles.
The 6-foot-6, 195-pound guard chose FSU over Missouri and Tennessee among others.

"It felt right when I came(to Tallahassee) just seeing the campus," Brandon said of FSU. "I still plan on taking my other visits, but once I got here everything seemed perfect. I talked to the coaches, how they plan, I saw their weight training program, the academic side of everything and all that factored in made it seem like the perfect school for me."
Being from the Tar Heel state the chance to play in the ACC with so many games close to home was one he couldn't pass up.
"I will definitely enjoy it," he said of playing the ACC. "We play Clemson, we play the Carolina schools, I'll be playing close to home and my family will be able to see me so that was really important to me."
With his size Brandon said he can play 1-3, but hopes that at some point during his college career he will get the chance to play point guard.
"I can play 1-3," he said. "Hopefully they plan on using me as a 1-3 and eventually just have me lead the ball and let me run the show."
Brandon is currently on campus for his official visit to FSU and will be in attendance tomorrow as FSU football kicks off the season against Louisiana-Monroe.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the whole atmosphere at a football game," he said. "It should be crazy."
