As the calendar flips to July, we are rolling out our Florida State football recruiting Hot Boards for every position on offense and defense.

Today's installment is on the running backs, where the Seminoles are expected to push for two top talents in the 2023 signing class. FSU looks to be the leader for at least one of its top prospects, but the interest could be trending in the wrong direction with another.

Here's a closer look at each of the top targets and where FSU stands with each.

FSU has positioned itself well here after big visit weekend from Singleton to FSU.

The Skinny on RB Sam Singleton & FSU

Singleton's official visit to FSU could not have gone better for both parties, and the fact that his mother and other family members made it in was significant because she will be a big part of his decision. Singleton has made it very well known that FSU stands out and that the 'Noles have been the team that has recruited him the hardest.

The four-star back even hinted that a decision could be coming sooner than later, which was a switch from what he has said before -- that he would be deciding in the fall. Penn State and Tennessee are the other schools Singleton has mentioned possibly visiting. Nothing has been set up, though, with either school at this stage. There's no question a summer decision should heavily favor the 'Noles. Singleton also stated he's likely coming back to FSU again for the July 30 event as long as the scheduling works out.

Confidence has been very high on Singleton since the 'Noles went to see him during spring evaluations. Singleton, by the way, is not originally from Florida. He's actually from Virginia, but then later moved to South Carolina and then finally moved to Florida shortly after that.
