When Florida State hosts bitter rival Miami this weekend, the Seminoles also will be holding their top recruiting weekend of the year. There's a great deal at stake for the Seminoles, and we break down some of the key targets who are expected to be in town and where things stand with them and FSU.

OFFICIAL VISITORS (5)

The Skinny on OL Verdis Brown

The 'Noles got off to a great start with the addition of IMG Academy offensive lineman Verdis Brown, who could play center or guard but likely will begin his college career as a center. Brown is very firm in his pledge to the 'Noles and hasn't backed away from that, calling his commitment "the best decision I've made." He hasn't talked about taking any other visits going forward, so assuming this visit to FSU goes well, he'll likely skip any other trips in the future.

The Skinny on WR Jaylen Waddle

This is one of the most important visits of the weekend considering FSU wants Jaylen Waddle badly, and they have already built a great bond with his family throughout the process. Waddle has said he likes the style of offense FSU plays, but there's no question the 'Noles need to put on a good showing this weekend after a slow start to the season. Waddle already feels quite comfortable on the FSU campus and around the Seminoles' players.

Currently, we give Alabama the edge since that was his last visit and that's a school he's also been high on for awhile. As we have stated many times in the last few months, this is an FSU-'Bama battle, and the 'Noles have a great opportunity to secure that lead with a big visit. Most feel 'Bama has a decent-sized lead, but we are told it's a close battle. Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon are also major players.
