Graves is 100 percent Seminole

As Warchant.com first reported Sunday morning, three-star offensive lineman Tyler Graves from Sumrall, Mississippi is not only committed to Florida State, but is counting down the seconds until Wednesday.

"I'm up at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and ready to sign at 7:00 a.m.," said an excited Graves. "I'm 100 solid solid. Go 'Noles!"

The recruitment of Graves was slow but kicked into high gear on Friday with a phone call from defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews.

"Coach Andrews called me on Friday and told me there was a JUCO guy who picked Oklahoma," said Graves. "He explained the situation to me and offered me. He asked if I was offered, would I say yes? I said I want to be a Seminole. He said if we can get a verbal right now, and I said 'yes sir.' They formally offered me in Coach Bowden's office on Saturday, and I formally said yes."

The 6-foot-6, 272-pound big man loves the opportunity that Florida State has to offer. Not only is Graves happy about the academics, but the opportunity to play right away is also very appealing.

"Coach McHale said there are only seven guys on scholarship this spring," said Graves. "They are trying to find spots. Whoever comes in, is playing. Say (David) Overmeyer rolls and ankle, I'll be playing."

Speaking of Seminole offensive lineman David Overmyer, he, Graves, and Drew Weatherford spent some time together over the weekend. A bonding that went a long way in securing Graves to Florida State.

"They said the big thing is to establish a routine," said Graves. "If you follow it everyday, there's no problem. My whole family is excited. My mom saw Tallahassee, she met people. She can come down and have a good time."

The 'Noles told Graves that if an offer came, it would come late. But as Graves can attest to, better late than never.

"I went to the NC State game and I loved the atmosphere," he said. "It was electric," said Graves, "I knew it was where I wanted to go."
