The last week or so has been rough for Florida State's recruiting efforts, as the Seminoles came up short with wide receiver Joshua Moore and defensive back Kyler McMichael. Both expressed strong interest in FSU for quite some time, but Moore committed to Nebraska, while McMichael chose Clemson.

On Sunday, however, the Seminoles got back on track. They received a big boost at a position of need when Warner Robins, Ga., offensive lineman Christian Armstrong announced he had committed to Florida State.

While the addition of the four-star lineman might not come as a shock, that didn't dampen the excitement for FSU when Armstrong decided to jump on board Sunday afternoon.

Before making his decision, Armstrong had visited FSU more than any other school and even made a surprise visit for the Seminoles' lineman camp last weekend. That visit, and the opportunity to work directly with veteran offensive line coach Rick Trickett, seemed to be all Armstrong needed before making his commitment official.

"FSU has been on my mind a lot, and I knew the time was right as I saw all I needed to," the Georgia product said. "The last visit felt at home once again, and I knew that was the place for me after working with Coach Trickett. I love everything about it."

Trickett and Armstrong developed a strong bond very early in the recruiting process, and Armstrong said his feelings for FSU grew stronger every time he visited.

"FSU was honest from the get-go, so that played a part," Armstrong said. "I know I'm going to fit really well because I utilize my athleticism. And Coach Trickett knows even the smallest parts of my game [how to make them] even stronger to get me ready for the next level. That system gets you ready for the NFL."
