Ingram and Jones to announce Wednesday

Wednesday could be a big day for the Seminoles or Hurricanes, or just a pretty good day for both. Tomorrow evening two of the state's top recruits will announce their commitments on Sunshine Network. Orlando Edgewater teammates Aaron Jones, a four-star defensive tackle, and Kenny Ingram, a three-star safety, will each pick either FSU or Miami as their school.
Jones, the top rated DT in the state of Florida, has been going back and forth between the two instate rivals for months. The battle for Jones took a strange turn last week when a large contingent of coaches from both staffs made in-home visits. Both appeared to turn the all-state DT in their direction.

Since then, he hasn't talked to the media much. Last week he told CaneSport.com he was leaning to the Hurricanes, but even with that report there are several people that believe FSU is his final destination. Nobody really knows for sure where he will commit, but the suspense is finally about to come to an end.
Jones finished his senior season with approximately 80 tackles and five sacks and earned first team All-State honors. His father, Aaron Jones, Sr., was a first round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers and went on to play nine years in the NFL. He participated in the 2004 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was a starter for the East squad.
There has been less recruiting twists and turns with his friend and teammate, Kenny Ingram, but there is just as much suspense. He has listed the 'Noles and 'Canes as co-leaders for several weeks and that hasn't changed. His school of choice will be revealed tomorrow night but for now he is keeping quiet.
"No hints," Ingram said. "It's FSU or Miami... I've known for about a week or two. I feel real good about my decision."
Surprisingly, Ingram says that he hasn't been comparing notes with Jones and has no idea where he will commit.
Ingram expects to play free safety at his school of choice but hasn't closed the door on the idea of playing some wide receiver. Recent Seminole commitment Xavier Lee did a little recruiting of his own during his official visit two weeks ago, and tried to convince the 6-foot-6 athlete to play a little offense.
"He talked to me when I was up there at Florida State," Ingram said. "He asked me and was like 'if you decide to come here would you be willing to play receiver a little bit?' If I decide to go there I'll do whatever they want me to do."
Ingram is also an accomplished small forward for the Edgewater basketball team. So far this season he is averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds a game for the nationally ranked team.
The announcements should take place sometime after 6:30 p.m. EST. If you don't have access to the broadcast check the Premium Recruiting Board for the news.
