JUCO offensive lineman commits to Florida State

The long journey for New Mexico Institute Military Institute (Roswell, N.M.) offensive lineman Daniel Glauser is officially over. The massive 6-foot-7, 320 pound lineman informed Warchant.com that he has made his college choice and picked Florida State over Arkansas and Mississippi State.
"I just committed to Florida State. I actually got off the phone with FSU offensive line coach Rick Trickett and told him that I'm ready to become a Seminole," Glauser said.
Although his visit occurred three weeks ago, the Switzerland native couldn't get the Florida State visit out of his head. He knew FSU was the place for him.
"I made the decision after the Mississippi State visit because it just wasn't even close to the same feeling I had on the FSU campus," Glauser said. "It's such a family there. I'm just so excited about my decision."
Helping seal the commitment was the job done by offensive line coach Rick Trickett. He never wavered on how much he wanted Glauser.
"Coach Trickett never fed me a bunch of bull about promising this or that. It was like 'Daniel you are going to have to work your butt off and I expect a lot out of my players,'" Glauser explained. "He likes my pass blocking skills a lot and wants me to come in and start, but stated that's up to me and how much work I put it."
Glaser's commitment now gives FSU two players from Europe - the other being Bjoern Werner, a starting defensive end. Glauser is looking forward to some big-time battles in practices with his new friend once he arrives on campus in January.
"I can't wait to tell Bjoern and I'm probably going to do that right after I talk with you," he said. "I know he's going to be excited about the decision because we talked about going against each other in practice when I made my visit.
"I think we made an immediate connection because it's always been a dream of ours to play Division I football. Now we get to do that dream together. That's pretty special. I will have to bring my "A" game against him."
The biggest issue for Glauser might be how he fits into the FSU system with its offensive line and how early of an impact he can make.
"My goal is to take that starting left tackle position. Nothing else, except that because that's my focus and that's the way I play," he said. "The plan is to just learn the system when I arrive there and I think I can add a lot to the offensive line. This FSU team is so close to being on the edge of competing for championships."
