Skinny: Not only is Jones a star on the gridiron he is a tremendous athlete and runs the 4x400 relay for his track team. He also competes in the high jump. He uses all of this athleticism to his advantage on the football field.
"When it comes to a defensive back that is big, physical and runs real well there may not be many better than Jones," Coach Danny Green said.
Jones is hoping his talent will help him lead his team to a state title and elevate his status in the recruiting world.
"I want to be the top recruit out of my class and be first team all-state," he said. "I would also like to continue on improving my cover skills... I feel my game is similar to Charles Woodson, when he was in college Woodson made an impact on offense and defense, I feel I can do the same thing."
So which player player is Jones looking forward to matching up with this season?
"Fred Rouse, he is by far the top player I will face and I want to shut him down," he said.
Here are Jones' favorite schools and what he had to say about each:
Miami: "Defense, that's what I like about them. They are aggressive on the defensive side of the football and I feel I can fit in with them."
LSU: "I like the Tigers offense; they like to attack down the field."
Georgia: "I like their academics and have some family in Georgia."
Florida: "They have great academics and that is very important to me."
FSU: "I like their defense, they let their defensive backs play aggressive and that is the style of defense I don't mind playing in."
At this time Jones has received offers from LSU, Syracuse, Michigan State, Auburn and Louisville. His leader at this time is Miami but he would like to take all of his visits before deciding on a school.
Camps: He attended the Nike Camp and will attend the Miami Camp and Down and Dirty Camp this summer.
