Local JUCO standout commits to Noles

Back in high school in Savannah, Georgia, Bernard James was only 6-foot-2 but a lot has changed since then. He now is 6-foot-9, 230 pounds and 24 years old. Late season, he played his first year of organized basketball at Tallahassee Community College for Head Coach Eddie Barnes.
A lot will change for James next year as the Eagles' post player has already ended his recruitment.

"Bernard has made a commitment to attend Florida State University next season," according to coach Barnes.
James missed eight games last season because of an injury but when he returned to the court he had 15 double-doubles. He also averaged 12.1 points a game, 8.8 rebounds, while shooting 61.7% (100-162) from the floor.
Prior to attending TCC last year, James was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. He will lead a talented Eagles team this season and JucoJunction will see him play in early October at the Southeastern Jamboree on the campus of Tallahassee Community College.
