Madison County defensive back Travis Jay has several scholarship offers from powerhouse programs including Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Miami. That didn't stop the talented defender from ending his recruitment. The three-star DB confirmed with Warchant.com that he had committed to Florida State following an unofficial visit on Tuesday with his mother.

"Yes sir, I just committed to FSU," said Jay. "I'm a 'Nole. It's home for me."

Tuesday was the first time Jay's mother was able to get an in-depth look inside the football program and meet with the new coaching staff.

"Had a great time. I got to see the dorms this time on the visit," he said. "But it's home and just the place I've always wanted to be. I'm really excited to be a 'Nole."

Jay joins a long line of players from Madison County who have gone on to play college ball at Florida State. That list including standouts Geno Hayes, Chris Thompson and Jacobbi McDaniel.

"I'm a big Seminole fan," Jay told Warchant last summer. "Thing is, what we do at Madison is very similar to what FSU does. Our work ethic is that you aren't going to outwork us, and FSU is the same way. Jameis Winston was one of my favorite players, but I really like Derwin James because I'm a defender now. He's always intense, always goes hard."
