Marquez Ezzard's set to commit to FSU or Georgia

Marquez Ezzard once upon a time planned to take his recruitment into the fall and to commit after the season.

Then in the spring he made the decision to take classes over the summer so he could graduate Stockbridge (Ga.) High in December and enroll at his choice of college in January.

That sped up the recruiting process for him.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pound wide receiver had been talking about a decision in early August, but he has moved it up and now set his date. It is July 8.

"I am ready," said Ezzard. "I am set to commit July 8 and I will commit to Florida State or Georgia."

Ezzard has listed other schools like Auburn, Florida and USC recently, but he has known it was down to the Bulldogs and Seminoles for a little while now.

"I really like those two schools a lot. I just went down to see Florida State for the first time and I have visited Georgia a few times in June too, so I knew it would come down to those two schools.

"I like some other schools, but Florida State and Georgia are the top two. Those two have shown me a lot."

The coaching staff in Tallahassee (Fla.) is what stood out to Ezzard the most when he was there in June. They made him feel important, needed and like he was a key piece to their class.

The same can be said about Georgia. Kirby Smart and his staff have recruited the in-state receiver hard for months and Athens (Ga.) is a place he has spent a lot of time at recently.

Now he will choose one school in one week.

"It is going to be hard for me because I like both of the schools a lot," said Ezzard. "I like a lot about Georgia and it is close to home, so that is great. Florida State is a top school who showed me and my dad a lot when we were down there.

"I know it will be a tough decision, but I know I am ready to do it."

Ezzard's plan is to tweet out his decision next Saturday and there has not been a time set yet.
