Matchup Analysis: Florida State at Duke
FLORIDA STATE OFFENSE VS. DUKE DEFENSE
James Blackman is coming off a second straight game where he struggled early but came on strong down the stretch. Versus Miami, the freshman quarterback finished out the game by completing eight straight passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns. For all intents and purposes, the Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central product drove the offense for what should have been the game-winning score had the defense not faltered in the final seconds.
This week, his receiving corps will be shorthanded with Keith Gavin likely out of action because of an ankle sprain. With Auden Tate also nursing a shoulder injury, there aren't many healthy receivers left on the roster. That means Nyqwan Murray and George Campbell, who haven't done as much as expected this season, will be counted on heavily to provide significant contributions. Tight end Ryan Izzo, who had a touchdown catch last week, could also play a larger role in the passing game. Finally, don't be surprised if freshmen Tamorrion Terry and D.J. Matthews see more playing time to help make up for the lack of depth.
