Miami Camp RB MVP Knighton still very interested in the 'Noles
MIAMI -- One of Florida State's top targets at the Miami Rivals Camp this past weekend was Deerfield Beach running back Jaylan Knighton, and the four-star prospect did not disappoint.
Knighton earned RB MVP honors at the event after putting on a show at Ted Hendricks Stadium, and he also had some good news for Florida State fans who would love to see him in the garnet and gold. While Knighton is rumored to be a Clemson lean at this point in his recruitment, he clearly isn't done with the process.
Knighton, who is rated the nation's No. 5 all-purpose back, spoke about his interest in the Seminoles, when he plans on visiting Tallahassee, and what he'll be looking for during that trip.
The four-star running back also went into detail about his and his family's close relationship with FSU running backs coach Donte' Pimpleton.
"I love the school a lot," Knighton said. "My main recruiter is Coach Pimp. He's a real cool person, and the offense fits my skill set very well in what they like to do with their backs -- in not just being a big part of the running game, but also all over the field. Right now, I'm just trying to build bonds with a lot of the different coaches all over the country."
The talented runner's connection with Pimpleton is already strong.
"His vibe is real cool," Knighton said. "He's probably one of the coolest running back coaches out there in college football in my opinion. Coach Pimp builds his bonds and connection with you differently compared to a lot of the coaches. He'll do stuff with you, like playing video games with you. There are just different things he does to make the relationship more personal."
