Noles land four-star JUCO linebacker
When Butler Community College linebacker/safety Toddrick Verdell completed his visit Sunday morning, he wanted to wait a few days before officially committing to Florida State. However, after a phone call with his parents he decided he had waited long enough and told the Seminole coaches he was headed to Tallahassee.
"I went ahead and changed my mind," Verdell told Warchant.com. "I talked to my parents and they felt comfortable with it so I went ahead. I was leaning towards waiting a couple days."

In addition to FSU, the No. 24 ranked JUCO recruit in the nation had offers from schools like Tennessee, Auburn, and Nebraska but the lure of playing for Bobby Bowden and with Butler teammate and friend Paul Griffin, who also visited this weekend, was too much to ignore.
"I'm glad I got this out of the way," said Verdell. "I'm excited to come down next semester."
The four-star recruit completed his schooling at Butler last week and will have three full years of eligibility to play at the next level.
Even though he played safety in junior college, FSU is recruiting Verdell to play strong-side (Sam) linebacker.
"I'll just have to come in and learn the system and see how the Sam linebacker plays," he said. "I'll get familiar with the system and study film. I feel I can come in and play it. It's almost like a strong safety."
In 10 games this past season, Verdell totaled 73 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 tackles for loss, and forced 2 fumbles.
Verdell redshirted his first year at Butler so he will have three full years of eligibility.
