Florida State is hard at work putting together its 2015 class but are are also looking ahead to the 2016 class. The Seminoles already have an early 2016 commitment from local (Tallahassee Godby) defensive tackle Cedric Wood. On Saturday the 'Noles added one more rising junior commitment to their 2016 class - Wakulla (Crawfordville, Fla.) athlete Keith Gavin.
"Being here has always been my dream," Gavin said after meeting with FSU's staff on Saturday and committing.
Gavin can do it all. He's been a starter since his freshman season and has lined up as a kick returner, punt returner, running back, receiver and linebacker for the War Eagles. It's still undetermined which side of the ball he will play when he gets to FSU, although he prefers to to play offense.
The all-everything junior missed nearly his entire sophomore season because of a leg injury, but is now fully recovered. He still managed to total 340 receiving yards and five touchdowns in limited action in 2013.
Gavin, who had over 20 scholarship offers, choose Florida State over Clemson, Florida, Alabama and Miami.
It was more than being a Seminole fan that made Gavin decide to commit a year and a half before national signing day. The 2016 prospect said he felt at home whenever he visited FSU's and also liked how he could fit at either receiver or defensive back.
