Julian Armella doesn't look like a true freshman offensive lineman. And he's competing with the veterans, too. Armella said going up against defensive ends like Jared Verse and Dennis Briggs can only help accelerate his growth and help him in the transition from high school to major college football.
"Going against that competition every single day raises my standard not only on the field and off the field because I’m growing a relationship with these guys," Armella said on Tuesday.
Armella felt he had good moments and bad moments in Saturday night's scrimmage. He also appreciates how offensive line coach / offensive coordinator Alex Atkins has helped Armella with technique like his footwork and how to apply concepts within the Seminoles' scheme.
"I feel like coach Atkins’ main thing with me at least is making sure that I understand the concept of everything before I try to go ahead and learn anything advanced," Armella said. "That’s my guy. I love him."
Armella, defensive tackle Jarrett Jackson and defensive back Shyheim Brown discuss how camp is going as well as their development during interviews following Tuesday's practice.
