Fresh off a stunning 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Ireland, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, running back Lawrance Toafili and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald addressed the media.

They talked about all the issues that contributed to the loss, taking accountability, the tiny margins that led to the loss, how the team will move forward and much more.

Below are a few thoughts from Norvell:

"As a coaching staff, for me, I’ve got to be better at helping put our guys in position to go and make those plays in the moment.

"They did a good job of extending drives and obviously making the plays that were necessary there to the end. … Very limited possessions. The importance of every snap in that game was monumental. Seven drives in the game.

"For our football team, it’s about where our response goes from here. Obviously, we’re all hurt. You come, you work, you want to start off a season a certain way. We came up short of that tonight. I think a lot of that Georgia Tech team, the players that they have and the things that they’ve done. They played well tonight.

"For us, it’s a bunch of plays we’re going to look back in the course of that game and if the result of any of them is different, it’s probably going to be a different outcome in that game. But we get to take ownership. I take full responsibility of all things that this team does. I’ve got to make sure that I do a better job of helping prepare them to go out there and be in position to capitalize on every play. Regardless of how many you get or how many you don’t get, we obviously have to make it happen with those opportunities.

"Offensively, we have to be more explosive. I thought that we had some missed opportunities there. We have to create the explosive play. They did a good job of trying to stack the box, getting a safety down. Definitely gave us some challenges in certain fits in the run game.

"We’ve got to take a step as a football team and not let this one game define the outcome of what our season will be. We get to respond here in a week from now. we get to play another ACC opponent. We got to go get better."
