5 Florida State vs. 1 Oklahoma
1st Quarter Breakdown: Oklahoma had no trouble marching down the field on the opening possession, racking up 50 rushing yards. The drive was capped by a Landry Jones 1-yard TD sneak. FSU put together a drive of its own, but it was stomped out and ended with a 53-yard field goal from FSU's Dustin Hopkins.
Key Plays: Florida State tacked on three points with a 53-yard field goal from Dustin Hopkins, but ended the quarter with a pressure of OU quarterback Landry Jones, which led to a tipped interception made by Nigel Bradham. The turnover gave FSU the ball in OU territory.
2nd Quarter Breakdown:
EJ Manuel had two costly interceptions. After both picks the FSU defense held. After the first OU pick by Tom Wort, the Seminoles forced a three and out. After an FSU punt OU put together an eight-play drive but was held to a field goal. With time winding down in the half Manuel was intercepted again, but he defense held the Sooners to a second field goal.
Key Plays:
FSU stopped OU running back Dom Whaley three times from inside their own six-yard line to force a 21-yard field goal.
After Javon Harris returned a Manuel interception to the FSU three-yard line, the defense held again, thanks to a big tackle from Vince Williams on the one-yard line.
3rd Quarter Breakdown: The big news came on the injury front as FSU quarterback EJ Manuel left the game with an injured left shoulder. Clint Trickett entered and led FSU down for a field goal to make it 13-6 late in the third.
Key Plays:Dustin Hopkins' 46-yard field goal got the Seminoles within a possession at 13-6, breathing life into a comeback attempt.
4th Quarter Breakdown: Clint Tricket tied the game at 13-13 with a touchdown pass to Freshman Rashad Greene. Oklahoma answered with a 37 yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stills and a field goal.
