Florida State vs. Duke
1st Quarter Breakdown:
Florida State was unable to take advantage of an Everett Dawkins interception on its opening drive. EJ Manuel was able to connect on three passes of 50 yards or more to help FSU get off to a fast start.
Key Plays:
Manuel connected with Christian Green for a 59-yard gain to set up a 1-yard TD run. He then hit Rodney Smith for a 50-yard score.
2nd Quarter Breakdown:
After Manuel connected with Kenny Shaw for a gain of 51 just before the end of the 1st quarter true freshman Devonta Freeman was able to punch it in. A Christian Jones forced fumble set up a 48-yard Dustin Hopkins field goal.
Key Plays:
10-yard touchdown run by Freeman. Manuel also connected with Greg Dent for a gain of 24 yards on the scoring drive.
3rd Quarter Breakdown:
FSU was able to set up a scoring drive behind a number of solid runs by Devonta Freeman who carried it down to the Blue Devil three-yard line.
Key Plays:
Manuel connected with Nick O'Leary for 3-yard score. Greg Dent fumbled after a gain of 24.
4th Quarter Breakdown:
Duke was able to get a few fourth quarter scores thanks to onside kicks as Sean Renfree led two scoring drives. FSU responded as EJ Manuel led the team down the field with his legs.
Key Plays:
Manuel had runs of 13 and 28 in the final quarter. He also scored on a 6-yard run.
