Luke Loucks announced two assistant coach hires a few weeks ago and said more news was on the way.
While not officially announced yet by Florida State, it would appear he's rounded out his first FSU basketball coaching staff. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported Monday morning that Loucks has hired Amorrow Morgan as an assistant on his staff and Chris Kent as an assistant coach/director of player development.
Morgan is an in-conference hire, previously having worked the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Cal. He's well-regarded as a recruiter, having helped the Golden Bears land touted transfer classes in each of his two offseasons on staff and playing a key role in the signing of 2024-25 ACC Sixth Man of the Year Jeremiah Wilkinson. Before his time at Cal, he made coaching stops at Loyola-Chicago, South Alabama and Nicholls State.
Kent, an FSU grad and former graduate assistant for the FSU basketball program from 2015-2017, spent this past season as an assistant coach for the Rip City Remix, the G-League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. He was previously the director of player development for USF in 2017-18 and also worked for the Chicago Bulls before joining the Trail Blazers organization.
FSU hasn't yet announced these hires officially. More hires in the next few weeks/months could include a director of strength and conditioning and possibly a general manager.
