Samuel, nation's No. 2 corner, says FSU has 'big lead' after Junior Day
St. Thomas Aquinas standout and Rivals100 defensive back Asante Samuel already had Florida State as his leader going into his visit Saturday for Junior Day. The big question was whether he would commit during that trip or keep going through the process.
As it turns out, Samuel did not make a commitment, but that's not necessarily bad news. If anything, he said, the Seminoles have only lengthened their lead on the competition.
"I had a wonderful time. I loved it so much," Samuel said. "Everything stood out to me. Everything about it is special. It's Florida State University, what else can you say? The visit was even better then I thought it would be. It's really a family here."
Although he already had gotten to know FSU's coaches earlier in the recruiting process, the nation's No. 2 cornerback said it was good to see spend more one-on-one time with them and see how they relate to their current players.
