Mike Martin's 40th and final season as Florida State's head baseball coach started with a bang -- and a staff no-hitter -- on Friday afternoon at Dick Howser Stadium.

The Seminoles' new-look batting lineup, which features five new starters, blasted two home runs and cranked out 12 hits -- seven for extra bases -- in an 11-0 victory over visiting Maine.

The 11 runs was an appropriate offensive output for FSU's final season opener under the legendary head coach, who wears that jersey number and goes by the nickname, "Eleven."

Florida State's homers came off the bat of sophomore outfielder Reese Albert and junior outfielder J.C. Flowers, and ace pitcher Drew Parrish was his normal dominating self in cruising to the victory. The junior left-hander pitched five shutout innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out five.

Parrish combined with relivers Conor Grady and Chase Haney on the no-hit shutout.

Aside from Albert and Flowers, FSU got big games from designated hitter Robby Martin (3-for-4, 5 RBIs), Drew Mendoza (2-for-3, 1 RBI), Mike Salvatore (2-for-5, 1 RBI) and Nander De Sedas (2-for-4, 2 runs scored).
