Warchant is able to confirm Florida State director of sports nutrition Katy Meassick will be leaving the school for another job.
Meassick, a Tampa area native, arrived in 2014 and has worked with every sport with her most notable contributions coming with the football team.
She's worked with student-athletes on making smarter food choices so they know what to eat during the season and offseason.
"Before I came here, I didn't know nutrition," is what former FSU kicker Roberto Aguayo told Warchant about Meassick in 2015. "I mean, you hear things like pasta will give you energy ... but when I got here, Katy was not here yet. It was kind of just bottom tier. Nothing wrong with the lady here before Katy, but you could see her impact. And when she came, she established her plan."
The South Florida graduate began her career at Maryland as an athletic trainer but left to pursue a master's in nutrition from Syracuse.
Meassick spent two years at Ivy League program Pennsylvania before she took a position at Arizona State. She was then offered the FSU job which she would describe as "a dream come true."
For more, here's a story profiling Meassick and her work.
