Junior guard Ta’Niya Latson is entering the transfer portal but will keep a return to Florida State among her options. Latson’s decision was first reported by ESPN on Thursday but confirmed by the Osceola.

Latson set career highs in points (25.2), rebounds (4.6), assists (4.6) and steals (2.2) in 2024-25. She was a first-team All-ACC selection and was named a second-team All-American.

FSU (24-9) earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, defeating George Mason in the first round and then losing to regional host LSU 101-71 on Monday. Latson scored 30 points in the loss to the Tigers.

Losing Latson would be a crushing result as FSU also says goodbye to senior forward Makayla Timpson and senior guard O’Mariah Gordon. Malea Williams is also out of eligibility.

FSU coaches were looking to build around Latson as well as Texas A&M transfer Sydney Bowles as they construct the 2025-26 roster.
