Tallahassee FB is commitment No. 19

The playing days for B.J. Dean and James Coleman have come to an end at Florida State. That leaves only sophomore Joe Surratt to carry the load at fullback this spring. As such, the 'Noles desperately needed to sign at least one player at that position with the 2006 recruiting class.

With the chance at immediate playing time and the fact that he grew up a Seminole fan, it's no surprise that Tallahassee Lincoln's Seddrick Holloway decided to make it official on Thursday and announce his commitment.
"It's always been my dream to go to Florida State and I'm hoping I can go in and produce for them," Holloway told Warchant.com. "I wanted to go somewhere where I could play and Florida State was a good choice."
Florida State has been recruiting the a 5-foot-10, 235-pound battering ram for a while but finally offered a scholarship just a couple weeks ago. Most expected him to make a commitment after this weekend's visit to FSU but he decided not to wait any longer since he knew where he wanted to go.
The nation's 14th ranked fullback selected FSU over Illinois, Kansas State, Kentucky and Florida A&M.
Assuming Holloway follows through and signs with FSU next Wednesday, it will be the sixth straight year that at least one Lincoln High School product has been in a Seminole recruiting class.
This past season the All-Big Bend fullback split time between defensive tackle, linebacker and fullback. In limited time on offense, he rushed for 413 yards, scoring five touchdowns.
"He's been a four-year starter for us, which is exceptional since we've only had a couple of those," Lincoln head coach Kyle Rice said. "He started his second game as a tailback as a freshman. He's got real instinctive natural running ability, extremely quick feet and he anticipates blocks real well - he sets them up and then cuts back. He's got extremely good hands, catches the ball well and is a big physical blocker. I think he encompasses everything you want from a fullback."
Holloway hopes to wear jersey No. 42 at FSU.
NOTE: Holloway was scheduled to announce his decision on Thursday's Warchant.com Hour but there was a miscommunication and word of his commitment leaked out to others in the media.
