The Perfect Class (offense): Where things stand after June Fisher Camp

Florida State has expanded its 2018 options at quarterback, taking a closer look at Will Levis and Jace Ruder this past week, while still pursing top target Justin Fields. All three camped at FSU in June.

Without question, the five-star Fields is the top target. He was exceptional at the Fisher camp as expected. We are told by multiple sources around Fields, the FSU side and even those in the Georgia that the FSU visit was the best one he's had all spring. Even though it was short in duration, we are told it was long on substance.

From what we hear, Fields was still high on the visit after he returned home. At the same time, his visits are really just getting going -- he is expected to visit Florida this week, and it's not out of the question that he could drop back by Tallahassee. There is still no timetable on Fields' decision, and we are told the family would like him to take a few official visits before deciding. We haven't heard a for sure-fire leader, but as we said after the visit, FSU seems to currently have momentum. With that said Florida is a major threat as they have been recruiting and pushing for Fields the longest.

Also in the mix:

FSU offered Levis at the camp, and the chances seem pretty solid for the Seminoles assuming they take him. As we have stated, Fields is the priority.

Levis originally wanted to make a decision by the end of August, before his senior season, but he appears to be pushing this timeframe back. The Connecticut product definitely impressed FSU's coaches at the camp, showing an arm just as strong as Fields, but the feeling is the 'Noles probably won't push hard for him until they have a better feel for the Fields situation. However, if FSU misses on Fields by some chance we think there's a good chance Levis would jump on board.

Ruder impressed FSU's coaches in camp as well, but he committed to North Carolina on Monday after taking a visit to Chapel Hill, N.C.
