Box Score: FSU 42, ULM 10

After a challenging week that included head coach Jimbo Fisher resigning on Friday to take another job, the Florida State football team secured its 36th consecutive bowl trip Saturday with a 42-10 victory against visiting ULM.

The Seminoles, who improved to 6-6 on the season, are now 1-0 under interim head coach Odell Haggins.

Haggins, a former FSU All-American and the school's longtime defensive tackles coach, received a huge ovation from fans when he was announced during pregame introductions. The Doak Campbell Stadium crowd of 58,780 also cheered loudly each time Haggins was pictured on the video replay board.

It was an emotional day for Haggins and the entire FSU team, but the Seminoles played well against against the Warhawks (4-8).

Tailbacks Jacques Patrick and Cam Akers ran for two touchdowns apiece, and freshman quarterback James Blackman connected with fellow freshman receiver D.J. Matthews on a 14-yard TD pass.

FSU now will await word on its bowl destination, with possible destinations including the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La., on Dec. 27.
