Top 2014 WR picks the Noles

Coral Reef (Miami, Fla.) wide receiver Jacob McCrary had a strong idea that Florida State might be his final destination when he attended the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp back in June. This week, the 6-foot, 182-pound receiver returned to Tallahassee to make sure FSU was a good fit. Following the two visits McCrary had seen enough and made the call.

The rising high school junior wideout pulled the trigger by informing FSU assistant coach James Coley of his decision.

"I just committed to Florida State. That's just the place I felt the most at home at and the players were great," he said. "It was a combination of a lot of things but even more so it was the fact that FSU is a team that will challenge for National Championships. Another big part of my decision was Rodney Smith, who is on the team. We are close and he actually lived right down the road from me growing up."

The commitment had some interesting twists before it become official. McCrary posted on twitter that he had committed to the Seminoles after discussing the decision with his parents. However, what he didn't count on was not being able to immediately reach Coach Coley. However, he eventually reached FSU's offensive coordinator and his commitment became official.

"It was funny but I actually told Coach Coley after the camp to expect a commitment today as I might be doing something," explained McCrary. "When I told him he was very excited and said can you please repeat that again because that sounds so good."

McCrary plans to take at least one more visit to FSU later summer with his family.

"I want them to see the campus so they can see what a beautiful place Tallahassee is," he said. "I'm also going to attend the Clemson game later this year because that game is always intense.
