ORLANDO -- The Under Armour All-America game isn't until Sunday, but several of the top prospects who are participating in practices this week are making news. In our first Under Armour Insider Report, we check in with some key FSU targets and also some players who already are committed to the 'Noles.

Four-star LB has FSU on top

Four-star linebacker Levi Jones of Austin, Texas, arrived here late Tuesday afternoon and made immediate waves by explaining why he has Florida State as his new leader. Along with being fond of FSU's track record of producing elite defensive players, Jones pointed to his relationship with Seminoles recruiting coordinator Tim Brewster and linebackers coach Bill Miller.

"Well, Coach Brew started recruiting me in the spring, and after that I met Coach Miller, and he's a very key part in this whole process and I really like him a lot," Jones said. "Just overall I like Florida State and everything they have to bring to the table. The type of defense they have, players they put out."

FSU was thought to be heavily in the mix for Jones, but the talented linebacker hadn't named the 'Noles as his leader until this week. Jones said it actually was Miller's in-home visit that really convinced him that he needs to strongly consider the 'Noles and take an official visit to Tallahassee.

"They are very high on my list. Florida State is my leader," Jones said. "After Coach Miller came for my in-home visit, I said this is a great place. I have to take a visit first and see everything. I haven't set a visit, but obviously it will be in January."

Jones currently has a visit to the University of Florida set on Jan. 13, and he said the FSU visit could be his final visit.

Jones then further explained what he likes about the Seminoles.

"Just how they use the linebackers overall," he said. "Florida State always has a mean defense. My dad actually brought it to me first. He's always been a Florida State fan and he played at East Carolina. He's always liked Florida State."
