Wade happy with changes at FSU after visit

During this past summer at the annual Football Camp, the 'Noles landed their third commitment from Cairo High School (Ga.) wide receiver Cameron Wade. This past weekend, the lanky wideout took his one and only official visit to Florida State.
"It was good and I had a lot of fun," Wade said. "I visited with some of the team members and spent a lot of time with my host Rod Owens and Christian Ponder and all those guys. They took me out some, we hung out, and just had a lot of fun."

Wade, who said his measurements are now 6-foot-6 and 183 pounds, also spent time with his future offensive coordinator, Jimbo Fisher, and wide receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey.
"It was good to get to meet them and get a feel for them," Wade said. "They are real good people. I like (Coach Dawsey's) mindset on everything and what he plans to do with the wide receivers that he gets here at Florida State."
Growing up just north of Tallahassee, playing for the 'Noles has always been a childhood dream for Wade. Throughout the 2006 season, the Cairo, Georgia native kept up with the struggles of the football team and feels like the recent coaching changes should help turn things around.
"I thought it was a time for a change," Wade said. "Everything has to be rebuilt at some time. It was time for them to do it. I like it, it doesn't bother me that things have changed."
One thing that hasn't changed at Florida State is having head coach Bobby Bowden running the show. Wade got to spend a little time with the Seminole skipper and enjoyed their conversation.
"We talked about me being ready to come and play," he said. "We just basically talked about football."
Wade also got to spend some time with fellow recruits Markish Jones, Enrique Davis, Kendall Smith, and Marvin Austin, who he said all seemed to be enjoying themselves. One of the highlights of the weekend is that the recruits were able to attend the annual Football Banquet.
"The banquet was good," Wade said. "They talked about how everything is going to be when I get there."
The three-star wide receiver is on track to qualify. Between now and signing day Wade says his main focus is on keeping his grades up and helping to lead the Cairo basketball team to some success. On the season, the Cairo hoops team is 11-5.
