IN HIS OWN WORDS...

“I just knew it was the right fit,” Burrell said. “They checked all the boxes and continue to make me feel like a priority

“Coach Norvell, coach Dillingham, and coach Dugans really made me feel important,” he said. “The whole staff in fact. They would FaceTime me as a staff one or two times a week when I first got the offer. I’ve played Madden games with some coaches. Their message to me was just how important the little things were, on and off the field. I went for a visit on March 7th and could tell they meant that. Just how real they were meant a lot. Out of all the other prospects, the coaches spent the day with me and my family.

“They see me as a versatile playmaker who do it all in the offense,” said Burrell. “With my physical maturity, they plan on throwing me in the fire.”

RIVALS' REACTION...

Burrell is a nice pickup for Florida State. He'll serve as more of a possession receiver for the Noles because he doesn't have outstanding speed. Burrell does a great job running crisp routes and using his short area quickness. That's how he's able to create separation between him and the defensive back covering him. Burrell is definitely a receiver with yards after the catch potential because he is big and strong. Defenders have a hard time bringing him down in the open field so if he has a chance to pick up some momentum after the catch it could turn into a big gain. Burrell may not be a headliner at the receiver position but he's a reliable target that will get the job done in key situations.
