Xavier Lee to start this Saturday vs. Virginia

As first reported via Warchant.com Text Message Alert, head coach Bobby Bowden announced after Monday's practice that Xavier Lee would start this Saturday versus Virginia.
Drew Weatherford, who missed Saturday's game at Maryland with a ankle injury, was wearing a protective boot on Monday. According to Bowden, the boot will be removed Wednesday and he will attempt to practice that day. The coaching staff is still hopeful Weatherford will be available if needed, but Lee will be the starter regardless.

"The hope is that he (Weatherford) can play (on Saturday)," Bowden said. "We won't know the answer to that until Wednesday. I think the other guy would have to start, you would look at that as a start. I really didn't want to say that (Lee was the starter) but I might as well. The fact that the doctor put him in a boot for two days (makes it obvious). Then we need to find out if he is going to be able to play."
If Weatherford can't go, walk-on Tommy Keane will serve as Lee's backup.
