PANole, I care! 1992 Graduate, drop lots of $$$$ on Nole gear, traveled to the title game, and all home games, etc., etc. I even decided not to sponsor an FSU fundraiser (4 figure sponsorship) because the give away items had chief pocohantas meets elvis on it. Here is the deal, had the administration reached out to the masses, they would have known this from the beginning. They didn't and now they have egg on their collective faces. I wrote a letter to the administration that did not even get a response.....crickets! Is that how you treat people that have supported your program for 35 years? All they had to do was ask. If they wanted something different, get buy-in, get participation. They have stone-walled all of us on this, so I will spend my $$$$$ elsewhere.

I refuse to purchase the new Logo. I went out right when this story came out and loaded up and tons of clothes and other FSU gear totaling over $1500 for my wife and kids. This should hold us over for a few years. Literally flied one of my spare bedrooms closet LOL. My wife hates the new logo so she was all for it.

People need to understand that Nike did this nonsense to sell more gear. Corporate decisions are always based on $. The bottom line, is the bottom line with them.

So the only way that this is going to change is if they don't get the ROI liked they hoped for. So everyone save their breath, its not going to change unless Nike see's it hurt them financially.

Many of you seem to be wondering about if members of the FSU Athletics Department will see and/or receive this report.

I can tell all of you that paper copies of the report were hand-delivered today to some members of the FSU Athletics Department.  That is all the information I can provide about this.

In addition, members of the media have were also provided with the same link to the PDF as was posted here on Warchant and social media sites.  I would expect that electronic and in-print news stories will be forthcoming in the next couple of days.

Only a few like Q boy, the research shows this yet they don't realize just how much money FSU has lost out with this.  Treating fans like they did is not a good sign.

Absolutely.  They did it just for the money.  And when they did it, you immediately handed them $1500.  Sounds like mission accomplished.

The individual or individual's who made this decision should be fired. Of course this will not happen as a former footbal hero *** (edited) with ZERO athleic department experince decided this.

This will make it even farther...  It was just a matter of time.

"Their focus groups didn't give them a true picture...."  What focus groups?  Who did they ask for opinions about the logo revision design?  Why haven't they now published their research?  I have one word that I think best describes the attitude of those running our Athletic Department...hubris.
6/30 4:54 PM | IP: Logged
Where are the two prominent FSU posters that might work at FSU? I'd like to hear their opinion on this and all the fans against it.

It's hard not to ignore the facts.
49.7% of the respondents said that they preferred Jodi's logo, or the original logo, over the old logo.
Not saying that 49.7% don't like the old logo, but the survey would lead one to believe that many would like a change.
Hell, one can't accept one set of facts and ignore the other.

If I remember correctly, the poll on the TC had 83% against the new logo.  This one has 92%.  Kind of blows up the theory that the TC was on the fringe on this thing.  I'm not surprised at the results, just at how large the disparity is.

TC is on the fringe. It's got more people than the average that actually support the new logo.

Pretty much what I expected.  This whole thing is terrible.

Great job on the research guys.
I did stare at it one night and started feeling
queasy. Get rid of the thing before it infects young fans.

This is the angle you're gonna go with now?
Nobody is arguing whether or not to change the logo. Jodi Slade's attempt has been met with mostly positive responses. Chief Walmart...no so much...except at the Palm Harbor location!

The new logo is far from perfect and I've seen some good revisions.

But I can't look at the old logo with thee sagging, toothless face and think we need to go back to it.

Perhaps a more accurately depicted Seminole Warrior should be the goal.

You were one of the ones claiming that people would've hated any kind of changes that were made, his research clearly proves that's not true. People hate the terrible crap that we now use, people don't hate all change in general.

No one is saying that this isn't a valid opinion.  We're just talking about how this opinion has been proven to be held by about 8% of fans.

Incorrect. They won't be able to ignore this study. FSU is already having meetings about the implications of this. What they actually do is anyone's guess, but they cannot ignore it.
And I don't know about yall but I for one would just be so happy if they decide to go back to the original or Jodi's that it would not be a gloating thing or anything like that.   i would be so impressed with the powers that be to reverse a bad decision and I truly believe we could be united again as a fan base so quickly.

Or you could look at at the correct way and see that 88% of the respondents prefer anything but Chief Walmart.

This poll makes my day. It's a big up yours to the posters here who say we are whiny and to just accept it. Accept your failure. Your new logo is cow manure. Now eat it.

The people have spoken. All ages, races, genders, 49 of 50 states etc. and they hate the new logo compared to the existing one or Jodi's. Where are the defenders of the new logo? How will you spin this now? Can't wait to see the rep(lies). Go ahead, we're waiting.

Thank you for all if the work you did to create and then analyze this survey. When it was first linked for readers to take the survey I was impressed by how the questions were written in a way to be unbiased. I am truly impressed, of course this is coming from somebody that failed statistics in college, just could not grasp the concept.

The group texts are a buzz trying to spin this one.  Don't worry, you'll get used to Chief Walmart going bye bye..

Chop is already showing an extremely weak attempt at spinning, embarrassingly weak.

I only briefly flipped through this report, but it seems to me that the Gator's football team had a better winning percentage than the new logo.

I myself won't buy anything with the new logo; I've actually stocked up on items with the old logo. The administration and Nike can suck it!

After going through the study a little more it basically shows instead of people and fans liking the new logo it will actually alienate the Q logo... Also as I've been saying they lost out on so much money as it showed more people would have bought gear with the original logo had it stayed. Let's see how certain posters spin this... I won't name names but they (3-4 of them) know who they are.

Another goof up that will lost FSU tons of money and make fans angry. Only reason two posters on here say it's been ok is because the memberships and money is higher then ever... Ya because of the championship!

Too bad now that there is legitimate proof the mods can't just tell those three or four people "its over, don't bring it up again".

I just read through this more thoroughly.  The two charts about merchandising with the new logo are AWESOME.  I have no expectation that anyone at FSU will give this serious consideration, much less initiate any change as a result.  I think they are too far in right now.  But if the next year or two play out as those charts indicate, there absolutely will be a change.  This is all about dollars -- for Nike and FSU.  If they lose money they will change.  I hope everyone has the fortitude to stand by their convictions on this one.  I know I do.

As many have already stated, thanks for all your hard work.
Its interesting, however the most probable take is that jodi's logo is the lesser of two evils, and if fans couldn't keep the original logo, they would much prefer Jodi's since it looks so much like the original. You can still see in the results that if given the choice between the two fans prefer the old logo, but I suspect if the "new logo" wa out of the picture and it was just the original chief versus Jodi's, jodi's wouldn't do early as good, but then again she was responding to the "necessary changes" that the new logo was supposed to fix .  . . (until we found out that the new logo doesn't fix ANY of those issues).
