With all the work done by some of the folks on this site I thought it deserved to be pinned to the top.

I assume that took you maybe five to ten minutes to do? :-)

Posted on 2/26 11:37 AM | IP: Logged

I wish I coud take credit, but I didn't do a thing on there.

Probably take me a year...the folks that have done it have done really nice job.

Posted on 2/26 12:01 PM | IP: Logged

Someone (probably a sad, pathetic UF alum) has just defiled the page.

Posted on 2/26 1:30 PM | IP: Logged

I'd say it's fixed, at the moment.

Posted on 2/26 8:41 PM | IP: Logged

They really did a great job with it...much, much better than just a few months ago.

Pathetic UF fans do their own stupid "edits" there on a regular basis. Freakin' jerks.

Posted on 2/27 9:22 AM | IP: Logged

Is it me or is the College of Communication and Communication disorders absent from the listing?

Posted on 5/16 9:51 AM | IP: Logged

Pretty impressive.

Posted on 6/14 2:11 PM | IP: Logged

Lots of new pictures have been added. I especially like the old shots of Westcott and the football team.

Nice Job!

Posted on 6/17 1:46 PM | IP: Logged

Whoever did it great job! The site looks amazing. Now if you could only bring FSU.edu's virtual tour into the 21st century. Has anyone looked at it recently? It hasn't been updated in years and looks pathetic.

"Lots of new pictures have been added. I especially like the old shots of Westcott and the football team."

Why our own University and Athletic Department seem to totally disregard the football teams of the early 1900s astounds me. 1947 was NOT the first year of football at Florida State College/University.

I thought the new look was a very thorough improvement. I noticed while browsing Wikipedia a few weeks ago. It looks excellent, thanks to everyone who helped.

Also, if anyone needs help with Wikipedia or working on the FSU page, I can help. I have edited and started about 15 pages.

Thanks.

Posted on 7/22 1:34 PM | IP: Logged

Note also it is now rated a "Good Article" - the only one of all the Florida universities.

Congratulations to the folks who did the work!

I'll Be taking pictures of campus and construction to add to the site in the next few weeks ... found the new Spring 07 enrollment numbers... went down a bit to a little over 38000. any word on if enrollment will still be frozen? also found the size of the Southwest campus.

The standard for reporting and comparing enrollment is the fall term. Spring enrollments will always be less due to fall graduation and dropouts.

Unless you specifically state that the enrollment is for spring (and then reference the fall enrollment stat), I would stick with the fall enrollment on the page.

Posted on 7/24 11:31 AM | IP: Logged

Agreed. Must go with standard conventions.

Someone should look at the acreage statistics in the gold summary box.

It appears that the total is merely a sum of the main campus and SW campus, disregarding the Panama City campus, the Alligator Point and other campuses. Also, the SW campus acreage appears to include innovation park and others (seems inflated).

Check the link for acreage summary.

Also, very picky but near the bottom of the campus section, collegiate is misspelled.

SW campus does not include innovation park but rather the ne im fields, golf course and alumni village. total is Main+SW

Panama city campus is getting their own wiki site.

Posted on 7/25 10:59 AM | IP: Logged

Where did the SW campus acreage come from?

PC (and the other campuses) are a part of the Florida State entity, so why would they be excluded when summarizing the total FSU acreage?

Posted on 7/25 11:29 AM | IP: Logged

SW acreage has a reference to in on wiki.

PC campus is 25 acres and i located on its own wiki site.

Main + SW is to total of FSU in tallahassee.

the med campuses are one building at thoes locations.

FSU in Panama will also have its own wiki site reflecting it's size

i gues i could calculate the PC and med campuses onto another tab there. it would total about another 35 acres

Posted on 7/25 12:11 PM | IP: Logged

That reference is outdated, and not only that I cannot find a matching statistic for SW Campus.

I want to be careful to not be too critical because I am appreciative of all the hard work that has gone into the site.

My opinion is that you should list FSU total acreage as 1,530.4 with a subnote that the main campus is 451.6, the SW campus is 618.6, and the branch campus in Panama City is 25.6. I do not believe that FSU owns the land in the Republic of Panana.

Posted on 7/25 1:48 PM | IP: Logged

Bat, The way that site seems to work if you see an error I'd say put it out and get it fixed.

you are forgeting 109 acres for the IM fields

Posted on 7/26 11:22 AM | IP: Logged

The IM complex is being built on the SW Campus (land already owned by FSU), so the acreage is a part of the 618.6 listed above.

FSU counted those acres as a part of SW Campus even when it was hardwood.

I believe this is correct as well.

Posted on 7/26 8:17 PM | IP: Logged

fixed it though adding the rex to the total as well as heritage grove (DUE TO THE PROXIMITY TO CAMPUS)

also here is the athletic and panama city sites i have been working on, imput would be helpful.

antiU,

I will take a look at the athletic and PC sites to see if I have any suggestions.

Thank you for heeding the suggestions that I made regarding the acreage. The site is amazing and I do not think it would be prudent on my part to start making changes myself. The too many cooks philosophy.

However, I must still make the point that the total acreage is understated (FSU owns a total of 1,530.4 acres).

Also, while logic dictates that Heritage Grove should be included in the main campus, and Innovation Park and Reservation should be include in SW Campus, that is not how the official records of FSU track these. So, if you want the sources to actually concur with what is presented on Wikipedia, these would need to be restated.

For what it is worth, here is my suggestion:

Main Campus: 451.6 acres
Southwest Campus: 618.6
Panama City Branch: 25.6 acres

The university owns a total of 1,530.4 acres in Leon, Bay, Franklin, Sarasota, & Gadsden counties. Sites are leased in Marion and Leon counties in Florida, and other locations overseas.

Idiods, mainly PC people editing all the wiki pages making sure "we look rasist against native americans"

Posted on 4/15 4:35 PM | IP: Logged

wiki will never be an encyclopedia... just a glorified web portal. people invest to much time on there only or it to be edited by idiots. i know because i used to edit quite regularly
