i don't know what to say. I'm crushed and at a loss for words. Semp was a great guy with a great sense of humor. Gonna really miss him. I feel like shit b/c i was supposed to email him a few weeks ago and i forgot all about it.

RIP brother.

Semper was a very spiritual man. He always wanted me to post scriptures on his fanpage. I'm sure he's laughing with Jesus right now. I am gonna miss him a bunch.

Crowl already posted the pic from the Spring Game but I wanted to add these.

He hated to take pictures and only did so when I asked him to. Here we are at PoBoys the weekend of the FSU/BC Game.

Photobucket

Again, I had to force him to take a picture...I had to do a self portrait shot at PoBoys that night...and he wasnt at all happy about it. Thats how he was.

Photobucket

Here we are with RhinoNole. Semp was starting to losen up and enoying the photo session.

He was a good friend of mine off the board. He called and texted with me often to check up on me when I was going through some crap last year. He allowed me to vent and bitch and always had an ear to lend.

The Semper you saw on here was a silly Semper who liked to do PUI threads and talk about missions to take down the gator nation...but he was a hard working man and a father who adored his kids and a husband who adored his wife. They have been together since they were teens.

Every time I was bitching to him about something he'd simply say "Hey Princess...things could be worse...you could be a god damn lizard and have to wear dayglow orange and blue to games....I hate the freaken gators".

He had so many one-liners!

I know it's been said, but we're all going to miss him.

He was loved by, as far as I could tell, almost everyone who came in contact with him.

Again...just a very sad day. He'll be missed more than he could have known.

He will be greatly missed, and I know I'll come back on some days hoping to see a new post from him... RIP!!! It's just all hard to believe!

Yep, Probably 4-5 years ago now we struck up a conversation on the tribal council when he was new to the chant, he sent me a note on my fanpage(we all know semper liked to drop a line on your fanpage-he was all of our biggest fans), we exchanged emails and have emailed occassionally/often ever since. We eventually met in person a few years ago(along with _canes_), and thank god I got to see him one more time recently over food/drinks. I regret not seeing him more though.

I did point him in this direction(smackboard) He hit the ground running and only this could stop him. He enjoyed everyone on the board and definitely your posts Jes, the last time I saw him he mentioned you with a smile and we laughed about your nickname "Donna Shalalalala".

Bo, you had alot of nice things to say about Semper as did everyone. He was really a unique guy to say the least. Oh how he loved those Friday threads and Bourban. The smackboard will not be the same without him this season or ever again.

Becca, I still remember the photo that Pops photoshopped with you and Semper on the riding cooler. Good times.

God bless Semper and his family. I enjoyed him at the tailgates and he would email from time to time to let me know he was always available for Vince since he worked at FSU. He will be missed. Karlos was especially fond of him.

As we talked about on the phone, I'm going to talk with Gene later, and I'll set up a fundraiser to place a large Legacy brick outside the stadium in Richard's name. I'll get some info here once my mind comes back to reality later this week. I can't keep the tears out my my eyes long enough right now.

Place a link on GB lounge when you set that up a way to donate for the brick please...

I am at absolute loss. I met Richard several times and he was an absolute great humane being. Much like Bo and Underbar I'm so very glad I made that dinner a few weeks ago.

Chris, Like I said, if you need anything at all I am here in Tallahassee and you have my number... I will be there at the drop of a hat.

Crowl, if you would please let me know about the brick donation I would like to donate... I can't help but think it will put a smile on Richard's face to know that some of a Gator's hard earned money went towards adding a brick at Doak Campbell Stadium that will bear his name.

RIP my friend!!!

Man I just feel lost since I heard this afternoon. I keep feeling worse every minute.

Ironically last time I saw him I had just lost a friend from highschool who died suddenly/unexpected. Semper was there for me. He told me to call him if I needed someone to talk to, and gave me encouraging words. That is the kind of guy he was. He would prop you up when you were down. He was very loyal to his friends.

When someone here finds out, please post his funeral arrangements. I want to pay my respects.

If he was here now he would ask you about fighting in the the war of 1812. I always enjoyed the old jokes he sent your way. He liked you Al, besides Homer I'm not sure if there was a gator he liked messing with more.

I was just checking my voicemail and there were some old voicemails that I needed to listen to before deleting and there was one from him. He was just checking in and wanted to know how my girls weekend cruise went.

It was hard to listen to and I quickly deleted it. I just couldnt bear to hear the entire thing.

I was talking to Crowl and mentioned how hard it was to see his contact info on my phone and knowing I couldnt call him anymore.

Sad day for Seminole Nation. Semper touched many lives and will be missed by many.Prayers out to him and his family. Rest In Peace.

Live A Life That Matters Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame, and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear. So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire. The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away. It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end. It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant. So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured? What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave. What will matter is not your success, but your significance. What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught. What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example. What will matter is not your competence, but your character. What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone. What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what. Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice. Choose to live a life that matters

Did you know that when you give to others in need, the Bible says it’s like giving directly to God Himself? When you step out and bless other people, you are honoring and blessing the Lord. The scripture tells us to give our best, to give generously. In other words, stretch yourself. Go out of your way. I encourage you today, look for ways to give generously and meet the needs of others. Remember, people have many different types of needs. There may be someone who needs some encouragement. Give generously when you give that encouragement. There may be someone in your life who just needs a friend. They need some quality time. Give generously of your time and pour into that person. As you give generously to others, God will multiply the seeds you’ve sown, and you’ll live in blessing all the days of your life. There are people who God brings into our lives that hold the key to our promotion. They hold the key to us reaching our full potential. But these people are not here to help us or to give us breaks or open new doors; these are people that God places in our path so we can help them, and show them favor. They are divinely connected to our destiny. We won’t go higher until we help them go higher. You have to step out and sow a seed into those people. The higher they rise, the higher you will rise. If you will help others fulfill their dreams God will help you fulfill your dreams. Make the effort to develop a habit of “pushing people up.” When you take time to invest in someone else it doesn’t go unnoticed. Every minute you encourage that friend, every mile you go out of your way to do a good deed, every penny you spend to make someone else better, know that God sees it. He’s not only going to pay you back, He’s going to multiply what you’ve sown. When you push people up, the blessings are going to come down! You’re going to get breaks, see His favor, and new doors are going to open to you. As you live your life as a giver, and look for ways to help others, you’re going to see your dreams and desires come to pass. God will fulfill His promises to you and you’ll live the abundant life He has prepared for you

One of my best memories was when I was at a trade show in New Orleans and I had a moment of time so I called Simple. Wow, if you think he liked to talk about lizard being low life's on the boards well he also enjoyed talking about them on the phone. The man could talk for days about his nolies and those lizards. I get a chuckle remembering him not only for his post with Homer, JD and others, but I will remember him for the way he always seemed to put others first.

N2L some of the good times were when Simple, you and I were on the Hokie board playing around...Good times.

Rest in peace my friend.

Cat fan here, just found out about this and am in shock.

Condolances to the family. Semper and I started talking smack back and forth a couple of years ago on this board before the Music City Bowl game, I got banned and he took up for me to get back on. We had traded talk and silly barbs/jokes back and forth since then.

Never got to meet the man, but am truly saddened by his passing. He was a great Nole fan, that is for sure. His passion could not be surpassed.

RIP big guy :(
