Know many of you were familar with Subman_Golddomer's posts. Well CR and I found out last night that Subby passed away on March 31, 2012,

Subby had some very serious health issues for several years, but it's hard to believe that he's never going to post again about cats, shredders, his sock drawer, his excitement over the early spring arrival of Hawiian shirts at his local K-Mart, his chicken, politics, or his beloved Irish.

Good guy that had a big heart.

RIP Gerald

Sad to hear... wondered what happened.  Just assumed it was notre dame's collapse in the bowl game.

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Rest in Peace my friend. The Good Lord has a new smacker, maybe he can convert him to a Nole now!

When you have a sense of humor...and you make other folks smile...and you are missed...you have no faults.

Wow!  Thanks for the update.

Man that sucks. Great guy. I am really bummed to hear this.

Subbie was an opinionated, clever, and ultimately very funny man, with a kindly disposition.  Of all those I've encountered on the internet, he's definitely one of those lovable characters whom I'd have enjoyed meeting in person.

I shall indeed miss Subby very, very much. He was a great guy and a great friend. I knew of his serious health problems and through it all he never lost his sense of humor. I always sought out his posts for I knew I would get a laugh out of them. RIP my friend.

P.S. This thread will be pinned as a Memorial to Jerry.

Personally...I'm impressed that the thread has been pinned.

We're a group that spends many waking hours, ridiculing each other.  BUT, in the end, respect is given to the quality of the individual rather than the color of the sweatshirt that they wore at games.

Big hugs to you, 64.

Remember Subby's avatar thread? :)

Posted on 4/29 10:30 AM | IP: Logged

Yes, I remember the avatar thread. I used to scour the internet for pictures of cats he could use as avatars. I swear I can't remember how many I found for him. He would always use whatever I found for him. I think one I gave him was the winking cat. It was such a problem getting it to work, he worked on it for what seemed like 3 or 4 days.

How horrible to read on a message board.    I am so sad at this news.

I gave him such a hard time, and of course I, nor any of us really,  had any idea that Subbie was in such ill health.   God Bless Him and may his soul find eternal rest.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Goldie,  I emailed several of Subby's posting buddies before it was posted on the board, and should of thought of having Mack notify you. I remember reading about Semp's passing here and that was horrible. I do know he enjoyed posting with you. :)

Alice, was he terminally ill?  Was this a bit of a surprise?

I'm just in shock.
5/5 11:02 PM | IP: Logged

Subby had been dealing with several serious health issues for at least five years.

Yes, I was shocked, but then, no I wasn't,  Two years, or so ago, he told me that he thought he wouldn't be around much longer, or able to get out to live life as he wanted.  God love him...:)
