That was probably the best game of soccer I've seen all season no matter who was playing. Too bad to have given the points away on the Kun goal.

Steven Gerrard is a legend.

I missed it too but was keeping up with my espn app... Pool deserved the 3 points. Great to have city drop points!

Gerrard pulled a Paul Scholes..... :)

I had to take a shower after the game because I wanted Liverpool to win. Who does Pepe' think he is, David De Gea?.

Sturridge said after the game that the ref told them to play on and not kick it out after Dzedo appeared to be dead. It was funny, Dzedo doesn't get the call when Agger? ran into him, screams at the ref, plays dead when Liverpool starts to break and doesn't move a muscle until until the Sturridge goal, then "It's a miracle", Dzedo promptly gets up and screams at the ref again. Too funny!

Kun's goal was almost as good as Captain Stevie's.

Is it me, or does anyone else that Joe Hart is simply to slow reacting to shots?

For two teams that I loathe, they put on one heck of match yesterday.

A couple of weeks ago, Scholes comes on in the 70th and he's about 5 yards from a guy who just received the ball and I tell my wife, "here comes a yellow", and sure enough, Scholes gets a yellow. He is great at timing a pass from 50 yards away but can't time a tackle from 10 feet away.

His hollywood balls were/are amazing. He did himself a good service from retiring from England when he did. The last thing I need is for Gerrard to play 90 minutes vs Brazil or pick up a knock. If Scholes played for any team besides United, he would have lead the league in sending offs for a decade on the trot.

I don't like the idea of Rooney or any other United players playing on Wednesday or someone who's in injury prone like RVP playing for the Dutch. It's just a useless scrimmage.

Isn't Scholes the all time yellow card leaer?

I'm not sure. Do you watch alot of Dutch NT by any chance?

If they are on. I always try to catch England and the Dutch, as well as Argentina.

I will DVR Wedenesday's England/Brazil match.

Did you catch the announcer during the Liverpool game ask if England was playing Brazil or if Tevez was on the Citey bench? What a dipshit. My wife even yelled that England was playing Brazil.

Ya, I thought the announce was being tongue-n cheek with the Tevez stuff as Mancini didn't bring him on.

Have you seen Kevin Strootman play before?
2/4 1:59 PM | IP: Logged

I like Strootman. He was linked to United in the summer transfer window. He's a young defensive mid. He has played with the NL in the last 3 or 4 WCQ's. Solid on defense and I think he played next to Van de Vart.

I am shocked that he is still at PSV.

Thanks.

If Man U beat Eveton this week I think the league is done. If Everton win things will get interesting.

personally, im worried we could drop 4 points total on the front and back ends of this upcoming Real Madrid CL match up... i hope im wrong and we whip Everton and give a little payback for that 4-4 draw at the end of last season that stung us hard in losing the title.

After last year's colapse, I am not even thinking about them winning anyhting until it's over.

Everton f'd United last year at the end, United was up 4-1 at OT when Everton came back to tie them. Those 2 pts. cost United the title.

United still has Everton, Chelsea and City at home and Arse on the road. If United beats Everton and THEN at least gets a draw with City, things will look brighter.

I'm hoping City will be within 6 or less points when they play you guys at Trafford, the QPR game away can be a trap.

And now CL gets going again. Can't wait for Celtic v Juve, Madrid v Man U, Arsenal v Bayern, and Milan v Barca.

Anyone catch the news about the match-fixing ring out of Indonesia? Hundreds of European games, including some CL games involved over the last 5 years. This could get ugly in a hurry, and will be interesting what players are involved. Since INTERPOL is doing the investigation, Blatter and his cronies won't be able to sweep this under the rug if it's true.

Well two WCQs, not exactly the tournament in 2010.

Must have read it quick. This is really going to sting the game.

I'm thinking a certain Chelsea-Barcelona match was one of those fixed ones.

I'm just hoping United drops 7 points (95 points is the BPL record held by Chelsea in the 2004-5 campaign).  United's current max is 101.

That England vs Brazil friendly was pretty good.
2/6 8:06 PM | IP: Logged

I watched most of it, and was pleased with the result.

If Welbeck had a left foot, he would get alot more playing time, IMO.

Milner had a great game, as did Lampard off of the bench.

Cleverley played pretty well, as did Smalling.

Just glad that no one was injured.

The race for 4th is really going to start to heat up now. Defoe is out for up to 3 weeks and even when he returns this is make or break time for them:

home to Newcastle
home and away to Lyon
West Ham away
Arsenal home
Liverpool away
2/7 10:59 AM | IP: Logged

Ya, that's a big blow for the Spurs. Five points separate Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal from 3rd to 6th. Liverpool sits 9 points behind the BPL's 4th CL spot. If they played the way they did at the Ethiad (minus Reina's howler), they could sneak into 4th place, there's still a ton of footy left.

Everton and MUFC play an extremely important match on Sunday, as both sides can not afford to drop points at all. Everton has played some of their best ball against United recently, including coming back from being down 4-1 at OT last year, helping United losing the title.

John Terry will be out vs Wigan and Cech has a broken finger and Ba has that broken nose, but both will be fitted with some sort of protective gear and both should play. Another shocking loss/draw for Rafa, could cost him his job. Luiz is banged up, also, but the ballboy abusing Eden Hazard will be back as Wigan attempts to climb out of the relegation zone.

--According to Fox soccer, Frank Lampard was offered and 1 year deal to remain a Blue. Lampard impressed me again, with this play against Brazil. Lampard has 94 caps for England with only 4 games remaining to be played in 2013 and he has no plans to retire from international play.

--Is it tough for everyone else to root for players, when playing for their national squad, that you root against during the season. For example, I was rooting for Gerrard and Lampard against Brazil, but I root against them, for the most part during the BPL season. I know it must be tough for some of you to root for Rooney.

Am I the only one that is sill shocked that Jack Butland chose a transfer to Stoke City rather than a transfer to Chelsea? Butland was then loaned right back to Birmingham, where he will continue his first team keeping, but at the Championship level. Really confused by Butland's choice of direcion. Wih the transfer of Butland, look for Bosnian international keeper Asmir Begovic to be sold off in the summer.

Also, why do they call the Championship division the "Championship" division? Shouldn't it be league two? Between all the cups and leagues, it still confuses the bleep out of my wife when I tell her about the Championship division and the Champs League.

Goal of the week? Steven Gerrard's screamer for the go ahead goal against City, or Kun Aguero's curling equalizer vs 'Pool? Or how about that bicycle kick for Honduras against Howard and the US.

How shitty is it that beIN is covering all away WCQ games for the USA? There are alot of fans that don't get beIN and will not see the games unless they get a stream.

Watching the 1995 FA Cup final that was won by Everton, 1-0 over United. There were only 3 subs allowed on the roster back then, 1 was the keeper, and the other two United subs were kids named Ryan Giggs and Paul Schole. It's amazing that 18 years later, those two are still playing!

Did you guys see the Stoke fans chanting U-S-A, U-S-A when it was official that Stoke purchased Shea's contract from the MLS? Or were they chaniting U-S-hea, U-S-hea? And how come Shea was not on the US roster against Hondurus? Thank God, that Jamaica was able to take a couple of point from the home team, Mexico.

On a side not, SAF was fined ?12,000 for his critical comments towards the referee after the Tottenham match. I just wish the old guy would just keep his mouth shut.

Well, enjoy the games this weekend!!!
