Plant City High School.........Joslin Shaw and Robert Hallback.......only players from my high school to go to FSU.....plenty of D1 talent, most guys never panned out........
and the most famous athlete would be Kenny Rogers (now pitching for Detroit), not wanting to claim him now after the camera man incident last season however.

emmit smith went to my wifes high school

Posted on 7/22 12:06 AM | IP: Logged

Zeke Mowatt from Hardee Senior High.

Posted on 7/22 8:55 AM | IP: Logged

Charlie Ward, his father coached me in basketball also, great family.

Posted on 7/22 9:12 AM | IP: Logged

Orange Park HIgh School......

Ray Criswell - former UF and NFL punter (and a very good high school QB);
Adrian White - former UF and NFL safety;
Robert Pollard (also played at Bolles) - unbelievably talented, but apparently couldn't keep his head on straight.
Dustin Almond - Recent Southern Miss QB.

I'm sure I'm missing some.

Mike Williams also went to Plant I thought.

Mike Williams did go to Plant, but I went to Plant City High School, different schools. Plant is in Tampa, and Plant City is actually the name of the town I grew up in

Kevin Knox... Niceville High School...

Derrick Gibson of Miami Killian was in a couple of my classes snd used to wear alot of UNC gear. He was a nice quiet kid. Good student who actually showed up to class. In junior high I got in a fight with Eric Thomas at Richmond Heights. We were arguing over the Duke -UNLV finals. UNLV won by like 30 and I rubbed it in(he was a big Duke Bball fan) and he attacked me. FOur years later the dude is close to 300 pounds. We were pretty good friends until he went to Columbus High school.

North Allegheny in Pittsburgh.

Brian Baschnagel, Paul Failla(the ND QB that was option only back in the early 90's) and Justin Goheen an ND linebacker during that same time.

I went to Plant High in South Tampa, and Milton High School in Alpharetta, GA so i'm gonna have to say from Plant:

1. Mike Williams - i was older than him in school, and trust me, there was a reason FSU (or UF) didn't recruit him. he was a lazy, childish thug who was always getting in trouble at Plant. During his high school games he would either A) play when he wanted (which wasn't a lot) or B) was suspended and couldn't play.

2. Wade Boggs - I know this isn't football but it's definitely worth noting!!!

There could be others, but i have no clue.

And for Milton, The only guy i know of is Sean Bailey, who is playing for the Bulldogs but was injured last year. We also had Kyle Farnsworth in baseball, who is now the closer for the New York Yankees.

Jared Moon, Kenny Kelly, Eric Kelly, were all big time. Down the street Jason Whitaker and Will Witherspoon played.

I went to Mosley and knew Mac Pittman. Guy was unbelievable; what a wasted talent.

Grew up with the Flemings (Duke, UGA, UF), however; they went to Rutherford.

Jason Whitaker (looking to change if Davis and Johnson pan out)

Fletcher HS Jax Beach
Best player was Jimmy Hayes(1967), started as a linebacker in 9th grade as a senior was rated number 2 RB in the nation, recruited by everyone until he fractured his neck. I saw all the other Fletcher guys play, like Cooper,Fason and Black. none were better than
Hayes.

Go Panthers!

I went to high school with Tiger McMillan at St. Cloud High School. Does anyone remember him? He played for the Noles 91-95. But actually Brent Fullwood also went to SCHS and I think he was overall a better player.

South Fork HS

1. Cleveland Gary-UGA/UM-St Louis Rams, Dolphins
2. Charles Emanuel-WVU-Minnesota Vikings, Philly, and Bucs
3. Cory McIntyer-WVU-Philly and Browns

Espygj8,

Doubt you will see this because of the size of the thread. But, I am good friends with George. I wish he would have tried football but he had to make the decision best for him. He was Parade's # 1 back coming out of Lovett and it is funny to look at newspapers and see his name annd picture next to guys like Peyton Manning and think what might have been.

For me: Woodward Academy (Atlanta, Ga.)

I played with Julian Jenkins DE highschool class of 2002 (Standford, Tampa Bay Bucs) Jenkins was Countdown To Signing Day's Defense Player of the year for the whole Southeast Region. I think he was given that more b/c of his character and the fact that he played in Atl but he was a hell of a talent none the less.

I also played against:

DJ Shockley (North Clayton)
Calvin Jackson (Sandy Creek)
Kedrick Golston (Sandy Creek)
JR Lemon (Sandy Creek)

A.C. Mosley High class of '88. I was a perinial benchwarmer who lettered on a great team. Our best that year is the best we ever had, Gene McGuire. Gene went to Notre Dame and he is wearing a Nat. Champ. ring and a Super Bowl ring from his stint with the Packers. Others of note:
Jason Whitaker - FSU
Lewis Berry - FSU (punter in the early 80's)
John Little - UGA (all sec, played next to Terry Hogue)
Patrick Miller - UF

Go Dolphins!!! Go Noles!!!

Anyone ever heard of Mac Campbell from Alexandria High School in Alabama? I was DT/TE on our state championship team in 95. He started as an 8th grader on high school team. 1st touch ever he ran kickoff back for TD. I think he is in top 15 all time national rushing.2nd or 3rd in state of AL last I checked. However, he didn't have the grades to make it in college. A pure shame. A great kid. He is currently playing in an amateur league in Alabama. Gene Stallings visited him in the hospital whenhe came down w/ bacterial meningitis after his senior season.
