Posted on 11/14 1:57 PM | IP: Logged

about 3 years too late...

Posted on 11/14 1:58 PM | IP: Logged

That's the best call JB has had in four years

Posted on 11/14 1:59 PM | IP: Logged

Believe it or not I saw the headline on CNN SI and not Warchant!

DOT PLEASE DON'T BAN ME FOR THAT!!

Posted on 11/14 1:59 PM | IP: Logged

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Posted on 11/14 2:00 PM | IP: Logged

I could imagine the pressure was building, and I would be a hypercrite to say I am not happy because I am.

What are the other steps that will occur now is the question that needs to be answered.

If you ask me, fresh blood needs to be bought in period for the offensive staff with the exception of John Lilly and perhaps Sexton.

Posted on 11/14 2:01 PM | IP: Logged

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Posted on 11/14 2:01 PM | IP: Logged

I can handle two more games to see him gone

Posted on 11/14 2:05 PM | IP: Logged

sweet.....I hope this does the trick?

Posted on 11/14 2:07 PM | IP: Logged

Jeff. I wish you the best of luck and thank you wholeheartedly for your hard work, passion, commitment and loyalty. I'm sure you wanted to see this through. You have always represented yourself, your school and your family well. Thank you. Whatever the reason for your departure, I hope that it will be for the best for everyone involved.

Posted on 11/14 2:07 PM | IP: Logged

This is definately interesting, however other changes are as necessary, if not more so, if FSU is to begin a climb from the pits back to national recognition. Maybe a new QB coach ,OL And RB?

Posted on 11/14 2:07 PM | IP: Logged

This is great. Hope it isn't just a case of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Posted on 11/14 2:08 PM | IP: Logged

www.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/ncaa/11/14/jeffbowden.steppingdown.ap/index.html

says he is coaching through the end of the season. I would presume that means bowl games if we become bowl eligible.

Posted on 11/14 2:08 PM | IP: Logged

It's hard to swallow your pride like this and admit failure

Posted on 11/14 2:09 PM | IP: Logged

astonishing, I give him credit for manning up and making the decision despite Bobby wanting him to stick around and continue to kill our program

Posted on 11/14 2:09 PM | IP: Logged

I played football at the Univ of Montana.Where are you at in MT, and how did you get to be a NOLE FAN!

Posted on 11/14 2:15 PM | IP: Logged

I hope they hire someone soon, it may be hard to land recruits in the off-season if players dont know who their coach will be.

Good thing I just checked the board. WOW!

Posted on 11/14 2:23 PM | IP: Logged

WOW, JUST WOW.

God bless you Jeff and may all things you wish be given.

WOW, JUST WOW!

Posted on 11/14 2:23 PM | IP: Logged

we need more guys who stepup and take responsibility... lets hope the other offensive staff takes their share of the blame too

Posted on 11/14 2:24 PM | IP: Logged

Even though they won't admitt it you have to know the players are feeling a lot better! And this move will help recruiting 100%, unless there's a son in law of bobby's that needs a job.

Congrats Noles...this was desparately needed as if you didn't know.
Look forward to you rising to the top again.

Hopefully the division will be a Clemson/FSU battle year in/year out.

We're ashamed we didn't win it when we had the chance.

Posted on 11/14 2:27 PM | IP: Logged

I'm glad Jeff has resigned but this doesn't mean everything is going to be OK. How are we going to bring in any decent coach if Bobby stays? I think Bobby has done wonders for FSU and I'm not sure he's done, just too loyal to family and promoted Jeff too soon. But what good coach is going to come in here knowing there will be a new Head Coach in a few months to 1 year to 3 years, unless we promise him to be the new Head Coach when Bobby leaves? I hope Bobby will call the plays for the last 2 games and see what he has left.

Posted on 11/14 2:27 PM | IP: Logged

umm, YAY!!

Finally some good news. Wish it was effective immediately but that's ok.

Posted on 11/14 2:32 PM | IP: Logged

He did the right thing.

Any decent coach would be proud to say they "helped Bobby right the ship". I am ashamed that 90% of the posts on this topic are negative and include Bobby Bowden in their near-sighted diatribe. You're lucky FSU was ever put on the map by Bobby Bowden. Go be a Gator. You all sicken me.

Posted on 11/14 2:41 PM | IP: Logged

Way to be a man JB! Thanks for your efforts but definately the only move you could make to save your DAD and his legacy. Lets hope McHale and Dickey have the pair that Jeff has. Again THANK YOU Jeff! MDNC-SR

PS: Now lets get an OC that plays the best player not the Coaches favorite or the guy who's turn it is.

Posted on 11/14 2:47 PM | IP: Logged

Posted on 11/14 2:48 PM | IP: Logged

No more excuses now

Posted on 11/14 2:48 PM | IP: Logged

Jeff Bowden has my complete and total respect. Thank you for your contributions to the program. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Posted on 11/14 2:48 PM | IP: Logged

I am happy, but sad for Bobby! This has to hard for Bobby to handle.

I agree. I really do feel bad for the guy. I like the result, just not the way it came down. It would have been better if something like this would have been announced last year over the summer so it would have looked like a change instead of a beheading.

Posted on 11/14 3:06 PM | IP: Logged

He is going to make a very good NFL WR coach.....

Posted on 11/14 3:07 PM | IP: Logged

Yes, he did do the right thing. However, no thanks to BB.

I never doubt that sanctimonious blow hards have nothing better to do than toot their own horns on of all things, a college football message board. You are pathetic and repulsive. Please learn that you are not God and never will be. So, don't come around here trying to blow yourself up when you need some attention. We really don't give a lump what you think you know, loser.

Truer words were never spoken.

i'm as happy as all of you but lets not act like he was a horrible person or anything. lets just wish the guy good luck and move on to the next person. i can't wait to see who we get

Posted on 11/14 3:24 PM | IP: Logged

I totally agree. He shouldn't be slammed for doing the best he could. I do hope they get someone with proven experience. I appreciate Jeff for doing the right thing.

Posted on 11/14 3:27 PM | IP: Logged

That took a lot of balls. I commend Jeff for being his own man.
