Pretty neat, and a lot of emotion.

PA announcer almost ruins it, there are times where you say nothing, and that was one of them.

Freakin sweet

Posted on 11/17 2:32 PM | IP: Logged

That is simply awesome...can't stop watching it.

Love seeing Rodney Hudson celebrating the kick in this link...thanks for sharing. I also like when Craig James says "the depths of frustration from the last two losses just went through the foot of a kicker to the exuberance and the thrill of victory". Cheesy...yes, but I still like it.

That slow-mo close up focusing on the hold. Wow, Hopkins has some serious leg speed on the kick.

Posted on 11/17 4:07 PM | IP: Logged

Thanks for sharing, if you're a recruit at that game...it's a done deal. How about Martin Jr coming up at the end saying "you finally got a break".

Posted on 11/17 4:23 PM | IP: Logged

damn...that just sent chills up my spine!

Thanks Pben.

Meat to Jimbo..."Finally got a break, brother!"

I am so glad I was there to witness it. Still gets me going.

What I find itneresting is that to me it was so different from what you see them say on TV. You get coach speak.

In this you got real emotion, coaches hugging players, crying, honest excitement that really drives home a W is a W - all the crap that gets complained about on this boards is irrelevant to those kids and coaches they just won and that is all that matttered, 100-0 or 16-13 on FG to win a game is doesnt matter.

Posted on 11/18 12:51 AM | IP: Logged

Not gonna lie. My eyes started welling up with tears when I saw the kick sail through.

Awesome video...and on a side note, Antwan Greenlee is one HUGE dude. Wish the injury bug didn't like him so much.

Posted on 11/18 9:48 AM | IP: Logged

This is the best one I've seen of the team running after Hopkins. Most are pretty shaky.

Oh crap. . video shows conclusive evidence of coach abuse. . did you see Gran punch him in the shoulder after he hugged him. . . FSU will face sanctions!

Hopkins gets down right abused by our team. :-)

shouldn't his thread be pinned up top? Or what do you have to do to get it tommahawked?

Posted on 11/18 10:59 AM | IP: Logged

Pretty amazing perspective on exactly how long that kick was.

Was thinking the same thing. That kick was good by ten yards.

Awesome video Pben. Shows a unique perspective in a number of ways. If you ever get any more of these, please post again.

One of the greatest things I have ever seen. So freaking cool. I never once thought we had control of that game. Until that kick.

My Friend, and Pben, too. Little collectibles, like this, stays in our memories a long time. I have saved this ones, as I have some others, like Rix to Sams so that I might play them back at the right moment. Obviously, I have the Choke in Doak, and some other gems. But, gather, Nole veterans and children, for I will tell you the Legend of the Fall. Back before the days of instant replay as we have today came the 1964 contest between the Fl State Seminoles and the Florida Gators. The Gators came into Doak Campbell saying "Never, FSU, Never!" Well, "Never" was not near as long as the gators predicted! After ther 16 to 7 shellacking, there were Bull-Gators literally weeping and wailing. (May have even been some gnashing of teeth). People, I am not joking, here, they were literally weeping; I am talking scores of Gator fans weeping!
I was a senior at FSU, at that time and I will never forget the image. I only wish I had photos to show. But, children, and friends, that is a true recollection of the events of the time.
I appreciate Pben, and '72, and students of "real" history, and about as old as me. Though Pben is a youngster. 3dGrin

robby, if I'm not mistaken this game was the first time UF played FSU in Tally. It was glorious. There were about 3000 students that spent the night in the parking lot at Doak (which seated about 40,00 at the time as I remember)waiting for the tickets to go on sale around noon the next day for friends and family. I seem to recall I was 13th in line. Some details I might forget but never the result!
