Florida State secured a commitment from four-star defensive back Israel Mukuamu over the summer, but that hasn't stopped other schools from pursuing the talented safety.

And even though he has always said he was secure in his commitment, Mukuamu hasn't exactly turned away his other suitors. He has even taken official visits recently to South Carolina and Georgia.

This past weekend, Mukuamu finally took his official visit to Florida State. And it's safe to say the Seminoles made a very strong impression.

"It was a great visit. Just getting in Tally and around that environment was special for me," the four-star prospect said. "It was my first time at an FSU game, and it was amazing. I loved the atmosphere. I also had a great talk with Coach [Jimbo] Fisher and Coach [Charles] Kelly. Not to mention hanging out with all the guys."

Mukuamu has had a very good relationship with FSU's coaches since the beginning of the recruiting process, and even though the Seminoles were disappointed about Saturday's loss to Louisville, he said they took plenty of time to make him feel comfortable.

"They are just waiting and excited for me to get here in January," Mukuamu said. "I can't wait either. They said they will be losing up to five guys and looking to sign five or six defensive backs. They also mentioned how they believe I can play every position in the secondary. So basically, if you are good, you are going to play."

One of the main things the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder liked about Saturday's game was seeing how often the Seminoles used packages with five or six defensive backs.

"The defense is good, and I really like how many DBs are on the field at once," he said. "They also blitz all their DBs, so that's one thing I'm excited about."

Because this was his official visit, Mukuamu got to see much more of the campus than he did the last time he was in Tallahassee. He particularly liked seeing the support system FSU has in place for its student-athletes.
