DB Samuel impressed with Taggart, sets FSU official visit
One of the key visits for new FSU head coach Willie Taggart during his swing through South Florida this week was meeting with Rivals100 DB Asante Samuel Jr., who has been committed to Florida State since the summer.
Samuel's dream school has always been Florida State, but that hasn't stopped schools such as South Carolina and Miami from pushing for his services. The hometown Hurricanes, in particular, have looked like more of a threat in recent weeks.
So Taggart had very good reason to check in on Samuel and make sure that everything was still on track with the nation's No. 6 cornerback. And based on that first face-to-face meeting, the Seminoles have to feel good about their chances.
"We had a great meeting," Samuel said. "He wants to bring the swag back to FSU and become more of a family outside of football."
